Dermaplaning.

Dermaplaning is a safe, painless way of exfoliating the skin by using a surgical scalpel to gently “shave” the surface of the skin using light feathering strokes.

Dermaplaning is only performed on the face and is not meant for shaping eyebrows. The benefit of physical exfoliation is that it triggers the cell regeneration process and allows products to better penetrate skin. There are no side effects and zero downtime though your skin may show some redness. However, your skin will be more sun sensitive after the treatment so be sure to wear a broad-spectrum sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher. As with any post-exfoliation your skin is always more susceptible to sun damage.

Note that dermaplaning will not make your hair grow back thicker or darker. When your hair begins to grow back it might feel different because the hair was cut straight across, but it’s actually the same texture as before and grows at the same speed. It might seem thicker because the hair was cut by the scalpel instead of having a natural point to it.
